Home / Leaders / Monitoring Survey Progress
During an Event, such as Phlight Club, students are instructed to complete one or several specific surveys in their survey set list. While students can check themselves to make sure they have successfully answered all questions on each survey - see Taking Surveys - Basics & Navigation, Ensuring Complete Surveys section. However, sometimes students skip checking themselves and sometimes they will finish the directed survey(s) and then jump ahead to others.
For those reasons, it’s good for someone to be able to monitor students’ progress on their survey taking to help keep everyone on track. This page explains how to do that.
Step 1: When you login, you will see on your Dashboard the Upcoming Events section. Listed there, you will see the current Event. Click its Name.
Step 2: On the Event page, you will see the list of assigned students in the section labeled Assigned Studentsw without Event Snapshot. If you have any students who were expected at the Event but then did not make it, you can click the Remove link to unassign them from this Event. (This is optional, but can help more easily keep track of participating students.)
Step 3: As students login and start taking surveys, each of them will move from the bottom list to the top list, Students with Event Snapshot.
Step 4: Stay on this page and click your web browser’s Refresh or Reload button to update the ongoing results.
In the example below, students were instructed to completed the Above, Below, and Red surveys. As we monitor survey progress, we see the following in the screenshot below:
- Amy Lynn misssed at least 1 question on Above and has moved ahead of the instructions, starting the Orange survey.
- Katy Smith has missed at least 1 question on Below.
- Lisa Student has successfully completed all three surveys instructed.
Step 5: Talk to each student, as appropriate. As students move through the set of surveys, they will improve their self-monitoring; you should find that they quickly need very little guidance from the survey supervisor.
